FAQ

What is the difference between an Indie Film and a Foreign Language Film?

A film made independently is typically done by one filmmaker, who makes all the decisions.

On the other hand, a foreign language film is typically produced by a larger production team.

They often hire actors, writer, and directors from abroad.

They also hire professional translators so that the dialogue sounds natural.

Why don't more filmmakers use crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo?

Crowdfunding sites can be great as they let you reach out to potential investors.

Filmmakers don't feel qualified to ask for funds. They feel they must have someone to speak for them.

Since they haven’t proved themselves yet, they don’t think anyone should make an investment in them.

Instead, they spend months working on their project, hoping someone will eventually notice.

Then they realize that they didn't properly prepare for the launch of their campaign.

So instead of getting thousands of dollars, they end up with just a handful of donations.

How many movies does Hollywood make a year?

Each year, Hollywood studios produce approximately 3,000 films. That's right, 3000!

These films are marketed by Hollywood, which spends billions of dollars. They spend millions creating them. They spend millions to promote them. However, how many actually make it to the theaters?

Most likely, the answer is around 200-300. What happens to the 2,700+ other films? They are either distributed as direct-to–video releases or simply left in storage.

However, not all of them are unavoidable. Some of them were selected for distribution via Netflix Prime, Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus, iTunes or Google Play.

We should see more of them. Why aren’t they being shown in theaters instead? They're too costly to produce.

If they were more affordable to produce they would be released into theaters.

This is where I come in. I will help you find the best possible way to release your film in theaters.

I'll show how to maximize your return-on-investment (ROI) as well as increase your chances for seeing your movie in theatres.

Let's face facts...

Getting your film into theaters can be quite difficult. This process can be complicated, lengthy, and filled with legalities.

It could also be costly before you even start.

It is even more difficult to distribute your film within a limited timeframe.

There is not enough time to wait between the completion of a film and its theatrical release.

Is there a Hollywood Walk of Fame?

Yes! You don't have to pay anything to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame. However, if you want to take photos, you'll need to get a permit first. It costs $15 per person.

You must have a valid identification if you plan to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

If you are below 18 years old, you must accompany someone 21-years-old or older.

The walkway is not open until 10 a.m.

Once you are inside, you will not be able to leave the walkway without paying another time.

The walkway is not permitted to be filmed.

Why is it that so few independent films are ever released?

Indie filmmakers are assuming that distributors will be interested in their films.

Because they are confident that the public will love their film, they believe distributors would be willing to buy it.

This is not often the case. Distributors often take advantage of independent filmmakers.

They might delay a film’s release date until after the awards show has finished.

Or they delay the release date of a low-budget film until after the summer blockbuster season has begun.

Distributors will also attempt to keep movies away from viewers until they have spent hundreds of dollars on popcorn, tickets, or candy.

They don't want these profits to be lost.

What are the salaries of actors?

For independent films, the average salary for an actor is less than $100,000. Actors typically receive between $10,000 and $20,000 per film. Many actors get no pay. It depends on how successful an actor is. It all depends on how successful they are.
