How much do actors get paid?

Actor pay ranges from $1 million per movie to less than $100,000 for independent films. Most actors receive around $10,000 - $20,000 per film. Many actors aren't paid. It depends on the actor's success. Some actors are successful and make millions. Others struggle to find work.

What is the difference between a producer and a distributor?

Produced by a producer, the movie is produced. The distributor distributes the movie. A distributor can distribute the movie to theaters or other companies such as Netflix. Distributors can buy movies from producers. They then sell them to theaters and cable channels or streaming services.

Distributors need to negotiate with theater owners about where their movies will play. This means that some theaters may charge more to see a certain movie than others. A distributor should have multiple theaters in order to ensure that your movie is seen by as many people possible.

How many theaters do I need to make back my investment?

It depends on how many weeks you plan to make your theatrical production.

If you're planning to run your film for less than two weeks, you only need to open one theater.

If your film will run for more that two weeks, at least two theatres are necessary.

How many movies makes Hollywood each year?

Each year, Hollywood studios produce approximately 3,000 films. It's true, there are three thousand!

These films are marketed by Hollywood, which spends billions of dollars. They spend millions making them. They also spend millions on marketing them. How many of these movies do you think end up in theaters?

The answer is most likely between 200 and 300. So what happens to all those other 2,700+ films? Well, most are either made as direct-to-video releases, or they just sit there gathering dust in storage vaults.

But not all of them are destined to go unseen. Some have been chosen for distribution via Netflix or Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and iTunes, Google Play and other platforms.

So why don't we see more of them? They are not being released in theaters. Because they're too expensive to produce.

They could also be made cheaper and put into theaters.

That's where I come in. I will assist you in finding the best possible method to release your movie in theaters.

I'll show how to maximize your return-on-investment (ROI) as well as increase your chances for seeing your movie in theatres.

We have to face it...

It can be challenging to get your film into theaters. The process can be complex and lengthy.

It can also come at a high cost before you even begin.

You have a very short window in which to distribute your film.

There isn't enough time in between the time a movie is finished and when its theatrical run starts.

What happens if my movie doesn't do well at the box office

A film that does poorly at the box-office could lead to many problems.

You may decide to alter the marketing strategy for your film.

You might also decide to modify the script.

You might also consider adding new characters.

Fourth, you might decide that some characters should be removed

Fifth, you might choose to cut scenes.

Sixth, you may decide that the film isn't worth making.

How much does Hollywood make in a year?

A movie takes around $100 million to create. So if you made ten movies a year for a decade, you'd have enough money to buy a small country.

A private island with an airport and power plant, as well as a bank, post office and police station, would be yours.

If that doesn’t sound like fun, you must be insane.

It is made up of 2,711 stars that are embedded in the Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Each star represents a person who has contributed to television, radio, theatre, music, motion pictures, or any other aspect of popular culture. There are currently 1,922 active individuals on the HWOF.

You must first submit your name and address to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to become a member of HWOF. A bronze plaque with your personalization is also provided. This plaque is attached on a concrete base at the star.

A current HWOF member can nominate you for a star or if you have made significant contributions in movies, television or radio. A committee evaluates the nominations and decides whether to approve them. If they decide to approve, they write a letter to the address of the applicant explaining their decision. The second letter is sent to the applicant confirming acceptance of the nomination if the person accepts it. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce then charges $25 and forwards the money on to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.

The department issues a cheque payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce. It then sends the check the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays any artist or organization that submitted an application. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce pays half of the $12.50 fee to the artist or organization. The other half goes to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

After the artist has been awarded his/her star, they are eligible to join the HWOF. To be eligible for the HWOF, the artist must pay the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce any balance. You can remove yourself from HWOF by contacting the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to pay the rest of your debt. They will remove your name from this list.

How old does one have to get a star on the HWOF?

Nominations are open to anyone over 18 years of age. To be eligible for a star, you must still be alive. After receiving a stars, one could still be nominated after ten more years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

A family member can nominate your name for a star. If no relatives are living, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce may place a memorial stone in front of your star.

Why not use a new street, instead of staring at everyone?

The HWOF does not intend to be a historical monument. It is intended to honor all those who have made film history possible.

What happened with the stars that were stolen? The thieves stole approximately 1,200 stars. Each star is approximately 250-300 lbs in weight. That's about 4 tons of stars!
