Perhaps you feel ashamed about your celebrity crush. Although you may feel embarrassed about having shared your celebrity crush with the public, it doesn't mean that you should stop. You could be in for a very difficult ride if your affair continues with the same person. Here are some tips that will help you overcome your celebrity crush. Read on to learn how to overcome your reluctance to let someone know your true feelings.
Real life is brutal
People often mistakenly believe that real life celebrity crushes are different from fictional ones. People we see in media are not always the same as the ones we actually like. Instead, we see celebrities that we admire in interviews or promotional events. This means that we don't know much about these celebrities and are therefore unable to make a decision when we feel the same attraction towards them.
It's possible to recognize the differences between a fictional crush versus a real life crush. Rachel Davies, for instance, was attracted to Idris Elba because of his masculine energy as well as his edgy appearance. Although both actors have wonderful careers and are very attractive, there is no evidence that they would be a great match.

Parasocial relationships
It's possible to form a relationship with a celebrity and not have feelings for the person themselves. Parasocial relationships can be formed with celebrities. People are attached to their favourite stars and often follow their updates. John Mulaney was one example. Twitter was full of people worried for him after he went through significant changes. Mulaney fans have a special stake in his future. These are some examples:
Parasocial relationships are especially appealing to adolescents as they go through the identity formation phase. These relationships allow them to see themselves as idealized people and have positive interactions with others without being judged or rejected. Additionally, they can attach fantasized attributes of media characters they love. Contrary to this, relationships with entities which are far removed form the real world have very limited influence on children. Parasocial relationships are one reason many adults turn to parasocial companionship.
Secrets to getting over a celebrity crush
Many people mistakenly associate a celebrity crush and a screaming teenager girl at a premiere of a movie. However, it is possible to have an admirable relationship with someone you like. The delicate balance between safety and adventure is what makes successful relationships. Marriage can be a source of stability and comfort but it is also a well-known passion killer. A celebrity crush is, on the contrary, based upon an activity that is not suitable for marriage.

Instead of dwelling upon your celebrity crushes, try to get outside your head. The powerful therapy of burning pages is one. While your crush is still very much in your head, it is not as real as you thought it was. Instead, think about the qualities you admire in someone. Volunteer your time or volunteer at a local non-profit organization. Or, you could try a new hobby. You will find it distracting from your most intense thoughts.
